Goodbye from Valerie Hamill

As I leave (retire from) CMI at the end of December, my last day of employment being Thursday 15th, can I wish you all the very best, and give you my personal thanks for your massive contributions to CMI over the years, as members of our Board and Committees.

I have served CMI for 26 years – working my way up from Assistant Secretary, to Deputy Secretary, to Head of Secretariat, to Institute Secretary, a post I have held for 11 years.  I have had a great career

In that time I have been part of major developments including Chartered status; governance streamlining, which has seen us move from a Council of 60 members to a Board of 12; new Regional Boards formed; not to mention the many strategic developments that you have helped to shape and initiate, such as our HE strategy, thought leadership work, member products and services, press and pr activity.

I wish you all the best for the future; it was great to work with you all.  You are in safe hands with my successor, Elaine McLean, as well as having ongoing support from Matt Beavan.

I will look out for great news about CMI into the future!
