Australian Institute of Management offer CMI’s premier Chartered Manager status

Agreement will provide managers access to top professional accolade

The CMI (the Chartered Management Institute) and AIM (Australian Institute of Management) are pleased to announce a new partnership which will offer managers in Australia the opportunity to gain the designation of Chartered Manager (CMgr), the internationally recognised professional standard for managers and leaders.

Ann Francke, CMI Chief Executive, said “We’re delighted to be working with AIM to offer Chartered Manager to Australian managers. Becoming Chartered is a brilliant way to develop the leadership traits that are most needed to ensure the success of our businesses, public services and voluntary organisations alike in the 21st century. Put simply, Chartered Managers are those who have reached the pinnacle of the management profession as they are assessed on their experience, qualifications and the impact they make in their organisation. In a tough economic environment I am convinced that developing world-class managers is the key to any company’s growth and I urge employers to make sure that their best managers become Chartered.”

AIM Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Musson FAIM said “I’m excited to be able to offer our members the opportunity to become a Certified Practicing Manager and Chartered Manager as they are a much needed tool for developing a professional competitive advantage. The ability to access these designations and the personal and professional development framework that sits underneath these will allow managers to further promote their standing in the management and leadership community, accelerate career advancement and stand out amongst their peers and professionals in the industry.”

*Chartered Managers add as much as £362,000 of value to their employers by delivering performance improvements, significant savings, or by implementing product and service innovation. Some 93% of Chartered Managers report increased self awareness as a result of achieving Chartered status, with 86% reporting increased self confidence in their roles – key traits for delivering effective 21st century leadership.

The CMI is the only chartered professional body for management and leadership, dedicated to improving managers’ skills and growing the number of qualified managers.
