CMI CEO wins Mark of Excellence Award

Ann Francke collects industry award for outstanding leadership


Ann Francke, Chief Executive of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), has been awarded the Mark of Excellence award at the 2017 Association Excellence Awards.

Francke picked up the award for her role in developing a turnaround strategy, which led to a record year in 2015/16 for CMI which saw a 17% growth in Chartered Managers, 48 new partnerships secured with higher education institutions and 24,000 students registered for CMI-accredited courses.

Ann Francke commented:

“I’m delighted to receive this award in recognition of what has been a record-breaking year for CMI. Our growth and progress in all areas of the business shows the impact that can be achieved from a collaborative approach. Thank you not only to my team and Board for their continued support, but also our members for helping us to meet our goals, and helping us to promote excellence in management and leadership.”

The Association Leadership Awards were developed to celebrate best practice, recognising individuals, teams and initiatives and highlighting excellence in how associations operate and serve their members.

The Chartered Management Institute was also a finalist for the Best Membership Communication award after 88% of CMI members said that CMI content adds value to their careers.

Ann Francke has served as CMI’s Chief Executive since June 2012, and is the former Managing Director of BSI Group. Her previous roles include European VP of Mars Petcare, CMO for Boots Group and Yell Group, and Global General Manager for P&G. Francke is author of Financial Times Guide to Management: How to Make a Difference and Get Results.

Francke was awarded Winner of the Louis Armstrong Award for outstanding leadership of a UK professional body 2016.
