CMI's Insights newsletter wins top industry award
The Chartered Management Institute’s weekly e-newsletter has won a top industry award.
CMI’s ‘Insights’ clinched first prize in the Best digital for membership category in the Institute of Internal Communication’s IoIC 2015 Awards. Judges awarded recognised Insights ahead of shortlisted publications of the British Heart Foundation and International Air Transport Association.
Insights newsletter is emailed to 80,000 subscribers every Friday. The newsletter, which was launched in September 2014 by independent content marketing agency Think, now delivers one-third of Insights’ readership. Traffic to the pages has increased by 1,105% since the launch of the newsletter. More than 30,000 CMI members spend 90,000 minutes a month reading Insights articles.
CMI’s magazine Professional Manager was also recognised, collecting the runner-up Award of Excellence in the Best membership publication category. The magazine, which is produced by Think, topped the Magazine – Professional Association or Royal College category in the MemCom Membership Marketing Awards 2015 in May of this year.
Collecting the award, Think’s group account director Jackie Scully said:
“We’re delighted that by providing daily insightful management content to CMI, we have helped turn their website into a destination for great thought leadership. We’re proud to see that Friday is now the most popular day on the site (thanks to our weekly e-newsletter) and that 80,000 people are now receiving challenging and inspiring content in their inboxes each week (from an initial database of 700). The very fact we’re now rebuilding the channel on the website demonstrates just how successful the Think/CMI partnership really is.”
Petra Wilton, CMI’s director of strategy and external affairs, added:
“We’re delighted by the rapid success of Insights. Thousands of CMI members now keep up to date on the latest management news and views through the newsletter. As winning these awards shows, Insights and Professional Manager are making a huge impact on the management and leadership capabilities of our readership.”
