The Presentation provides an overview of the Government’s CONTEST Strategy and where Prevent sits within the strategy. The presentation will highlight some of the threats to National Security, discuss the current threat levels that we face from terrorism and domestic extremism. Explain how to help identify and support vulnerable people within our communities and to build and maintain a working relationship between the police, local communities, businesses and public sector partners.
Sergeant Jayne Drury
Sergeant Jayne Drury, Cambridgeshire Constabulary:
As the Prevent Sergeant covering the whole of Cambridgeshire, Jayne works as part of the Counter Terrorism and Domestic Extremism Unit which is part of the Joint Protective Services Unit covering the collaborated forces of Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. Jayne has worked for Cambridgeshire Police for 9 years, initially as a response officer in the Huntingdonshire Area both as a Police Constable and a Sergeant. She was relocated to Cambridge as the Sergeant for the West area of Cambridge City where she worked for 5 years during which time she was made responsible for the Thematic Issues around Rough Sleepers and Street Drinkers. She joined the Counter Terrorism and Domestic Extremism Unit in November 2013.
