Credibility is essential for those wanting to further their careers: it affects whether or not we get promotions, our relationships with line managers, direct reports, colleagues and customers and our professional reputations. While we need to take deliberate steps to build credibility, losing it may be the result of an error or even just a temporary lack of attention, but it can have a disastrous and immediate effect on a career and be extremely difficult to overcome.
Join us for this event where Chris Baines of Baines Craig Consultancy will be sharing some of her views on what builds and what destroys credibility before inviting delegates to share their experiences, concerns and tips for creating and maintaining a strong and credible professional reputation.
Chris Baines, Director, Baines Craig Consultancy Limited
Chris has used a variety of techniques to guide and develop managers throughout her HR career and has trained as a mentor for both the Enterprise Mentoring scheme and the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, for which she has mentored business women in South Africa and Macedonia. She was also a mentee in the pilot CIPD mentoring programme. Having come across some surprising research about the career benefits of sponsorship, she has also explored this area and will share her findings with the group.
Refreshments and networking from 6.30pm. The event starts at 7.00pm.
