Whether you work from home, would like to work from home, are facing requests from your staff to work from home or manage a virtual team, join us for key insights in how to excel in the virtual world.
The private sector has seen an aggressive trend towards outsourcing, especially for its non-core activities. This combined with client requirements and the drive for efficiencies coupled with risk management, has seen a move towards lean and the need for individuals to operate flexibly within multi-talented, geographically-diverse teams.
At the same time, many workers see working from home as an opportunity to improve their work-life balance, but may have concerns about the implications of a totally new way of working or may face opposition from some employers not yet ready to embrace virtual working practices.
Our speakers Andrew Bell and Steve Bovan will give you an insight into a structured approach to managing virtual teams, which will empower you to implement virtual working successfully whilst seamlessly delivering your day-to-day activities.
For individuals or for organisations yet to make the transition to virtual working, this event will demonstrate the benefits and enable you to develop a business case for the change.
Steve Bovan, MCMI, MBIFM
Steve served in the British Army for 22-years in the Royal Corps of Signals reaching the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2. During this period Steve managed small detachments normally deployed in isolated locations often in adverse conditions. Since leaving the army Steve has worked in various organisations where he has successfully transferred and applied his leadership skills in managing teams and individuals within the Facilities sector with recognised success. Over the last 9-years Steve has built and led high performing virtual teams of Facilities Managers across the North of England, Scotland & Northern Ireland and has designed and implemented the virtual managerial skills and operating templates for the FM team across the UK. This has allowed his current organisation to successfully implement a seamless transition for two of the largest FM delivery models ever witnessed by the UK FM sector worth £700m & £1.3 billion respectively.
Andrew Bell, Msc, CBIFM
Andrew studied Hospitality Management at Leeds Polytechnic and his managerial career has spanned a number of sectors; retail, leisure and hospitality. In 2011 he completed his MSc at Salford University and graduated with a distinction, whilst winning the best graduate award. Over the last 8 years Andrew has held senior managerial roles within the banking sector delivering Facilities Management. The banking crisis witnessed a rapid change in its strategy and approach towards its non-core operational activities. During this period Andrew successfully delivered various multi-million pound FM outsourcing contracts whilst adapting to change. Andrew’s experience and expertise allowed him to quickly build high performing virtual delivery teams that were paramount to the success of the operation.
