Join us for an interactive learning experience!
This event is focussed on innovation in learning and development delivery. On arrival members will be able to test out and explore a range of simulating learning materials provided by Metalog (such as EmotionCards, EasySpider, and FacilitationBalls) and RSVP Design (including their 'Images of Organisations', a novel way to facilitate introductions and begin dialogue).
Members attending will be able to participate in two short seminars to explore new approaches to facilitation of learning. The seminars will last 40 minutes allowing members to attend these in turn - 6.30pm -7.10pm and then 7.15pm - 7.55pm.
The seminars will be delivered by:
Shirley Gaston - teacher, facilitator, and founder of experiential learning company Azesta.
Shirley’s seminar will focus on the power of experiential learning, covering areas such as what to consider when planning an experiential task into a programme, trying out such a task, and how to make use of existing tools that have been left in the cupboard, making new use of them in interesting and creative ways.
Ann Alder, trainer from RSVP Design
Ann’s seminar will focus on how an apparently simple group activity can be used to explore the process of learning itself: exploring how our past experiences inform our current thinking and behaviour and our ability to learn and change, including becoming a more effective learner and the 7 key elements of learning to learn.
Please arrive from 6:00 pm for networking and buffet. The seminars will take place 6:30 pm - 7:55 pm with the event ending around 8:00 pm.
Public pay-and-display parking is available at St. James' Metro Station and at St. James' Park on Barrack Road.
