Picking the right people, understanding them, motivating them, developing them, helping them fulfil their potential. These are all key themes across the world of both sport and business. As is self-awareness amongst the leaders.
At this session, our speaker Catherine Baker, will focus on how the use of psychometric testing in sport is transforming the landscape. It will also examine some key lessons that the world of business can take from the world of sport.
Catherine Baker - Founder of Sport and Beyond & Thomas Sport Associate
Catherine Baker spent the first 13 years of her working life as a corporate lawyer. Having, in the latter part of her practising career, moved across into a training and education role, Catherine then spent 4 years as a problem based learning tutor on the undergraduate and postgraduate law courses at York University. Becoming more and more interested in the ‘people’ side of things, Catherine complemented this role with work for the Insights Shed, a company that specialises in the art of facilitation and getting the best out of the most important resource in any organisation – their people. Sport has always played a huge part in Catherine’s life, and she has now slotted comfortably into the working world of sport, working both with the Lawn Tennis Association as an external presenter, and as an Associate with Thomas International Sport.
