Is Energy just another Power Game?

Angela Knight, Chief Executive Officer, Energy UK will talk about how a series of decisions made by all the political parties has brought the UK to the brink of not having enough electricity to meet demand a year or so from now.

Angela will highlight the reasons for closing down the cheap coal fired power stations for climate change reasons and flag that not only does the timetable not link with building new renewable generators, but that the cost is much higher than ever expected - and no one has explained this to the public.

Reflecting on fracking and particularly whether we should or should not proceed and concluding with what actions need to be taken now if industry in particular (as the main user of electricity) is not to be rendered uncompetitive in international markets.
