Ian McNaught

Ian McNaught is the Executive Director of the Small Business Charter and has extensive entrepreneurial business transformation experience working across the UK, Europe, USA, China, Scandinavia, Russia and Israel; managing both business enterprise and operations.

Ian has 25+ years experience delivering viable enterprise and strategic solutions, working with multi-nationals; SMEs; start-ups; family businesses; government bodies and academia.
He is also the Chair of the Chartered Management Institute Scotland board.

Liz Hoskin

Liz Hoskin

Liz Hoskin is the founder of Positive Qualities Ltd, a positive transformation consultancy, her clients call her the “People Reader because of her exceptional ability to read people in 7 seconds or less and then go on to get the best out of them. It has been said that every company needs Liz Hoskin and her team as there is a noticeable change in the energy of the businesses once they have worked with Positive Qualities Ltd.

After starting her career in Marks and Spencer PLC, she is now seen as a one of the top inspirational keynote speakers for corporate events that want their people to improve their morale, teamwork, and ultimately achieve better business results. With her background in Sales and Marketing, Liz honed her people skills to inspire audiences who are often stuck in their ways and don’t know how to change. With her engaging, and fun personality, Liz connects with her audiences immediately and delivers content that they can use straightaway when they get back to their companies.

Liz is Vice Chair of the Scottish Board of the Chartered Management Institute as her passion is to promote Heart Centred Leadership with the many clients she works with.

Dr Susan Ogden

Dr Susan M Ogden

Dr Susan Ogden is currently Head of Department of Business Management at Glasgow Caledonian University, with responsibility for a wide range of degree programmes ranging from international business management, HRM, marketing, operations management and supply chain management, as well as fashion, retail, tourism, events and hospitality management. Susan is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), the Institute of Operations Management (IOM) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). She is currently serving on the CMI Scotland Board.
Susan’s main teaching and research interests relate to strategic and operations management, including strategic performance management, business excellence and continuous improvement in the public and not-for-profit sectors. In addition she also has research interests in career development particularly in relation to gender issues. Since completing her PhD in 1994 she has published in a wide range of journals (e.g., International Journal of Public Sector Management, Public Money and Management, Employee Relations, TQM and Business Excellence , Career Development International, Women in Management Review), and co-led a three year European Social Funded project focusing on gender balance in management. Susan also provides external consultancy and training in the area of strategic performance management, project evaluation and strategy development.

Stuart Macdonald

Stuart Macdonald

Stuart Macdonald is founder and managing director of Seric Systems, a multi-award winning technology business based in Scotland, serving the UK. Stuart is a keen advocate of youth entrepreneurship and global ambassador for YBI following the support they provided when he established his company in 1998. Seric work with a broad range of organisations including further education, public sector, manufacturing, retail, corporate and SME’s.

Recognised by the Institute of Directors as Regional Director of the Year in 2011 and Highly Commended Runner Up the IoD UK Young Director of the Year 2012, Stuart is an accomplished public speaker and regularly presents on IT Infrastructure, Social Business, Predictive Analytics and entrepreneurship. He is member of the University of West of Scotland Industry Advisory Board and a trustee of Cancer Support Scotland.

Jim McAllister

Jim McAllister

Jim McAllister is Head of Hospitality, Tourism and Languages at West College Scotland across the regional campuses based in Clydebank, Greenock and Paisley. Jim has responsibility for developing and ensuring High Quality Learning and Teaching in programmes relating to the Hospitality, Tourism and Languages sector. These vary in level from National Qualifications, Higher National Certificate/Diploma and Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ) and engage a wide range of partners including Schools, Local Authorities, Private Organisations and European Partner Colleges.
Jim has extensive experience of developing Educational Partner Networks in the UK and on an international basis for example in China, India, Malaysia, Middle-East and Vietnam; with a particular emphasis on both Curriculum Development and Quality Enhancement.
Jim has been a member of the CMI Scotland board for 2 years.
