The Collaborative Consultant - Using collaboration and sharing to build new, unique and defendable consulting services
Market analysts have recently been warning consultancies of the commoditisation underway in the consulting industry. And business school gurus have warned of the considerable potential for disruption to consulting offerings by new consultancy business models, service formats and new technologies. Collaboration among consultants and consultancies is rising to respond to these challenges and the ever more demanding needs of client? But should the consulting community be leveraging this area more? Are we making the most of the rise in the collaboration economy? Do we all need to become more collaborative consultants?
This interactive event will explore the potential of collaboration for the consulting community through pithy summaries of recent guru predictions and advice, exercises to draw out the potential and discussions of the implications for individuals, consulting businesses and the professional consulting communities within the BCS and CMI/IC.
Topic areas will include:
- The rise of the collaboration economy in general and in consulting
- Exercises/games to illustrate what collaboration delivers for consulting services and businesses
- Tips from the gurus on leading collaboration within organisations, across multiple organisations and within communities of interest
- Case examples and discussions to explore how we respond as individual practitioners and how communities like the BCS, CMI and IC might play a supportive role
Attendees will gain a pithy update on collaboration, a space to explore the potential for them with other consultants and managers and hopefully many will take away new ideas and commercial opportunities to develop further.
Professional networking opportunities will be available before and after the event.
