Join us for a talk on the dynamic transformation at The Roses Theatre.

Our speakers Deborah Rees, Theatre Director and Dr Adele-Louise Carter, Theatre Trustee will share the challenges and lessons learnt from the project to modernise this charity run theatre, developing it into not only an entertainment centre but an arts and community resource as well.

The talk will be followed by a site tour and then the invitation to stay for a film showing of Michael Moore's 'Where to Invade Next' if you wish.

 5.45pm  Arrival and registration
6.00pm  Talk and tour with Deborah Rees and Dr Adele-Louise Carter
7.30pm  Film - Michael Moore's "Where to Invade Next"  (optional)

The Roses Theatre stands on the site of the art deco cinema, The Sabrina Cinema which closed in the 1960s.  Building work began on the project in 1973, however when Roman remains were unearthed, the project was suspended while a full archaeological exploration took place.  This was completed in 1975.

The Roses Theatre Trust was formed in 1995 when the theatre was further developed.  Deborah Rees took over as Theatre Director in 2006.
