Webinar - Managing Conflict in the Workplace
Start Date: 24 Nov 2016
Start Time: 6:30 PM
End Time: 7:30 PM
Duration: 1 hour
In 2014 four in ten UK employees reported some form of interpersonal conflict, most commonly with their line manager followed by their colleagues typically caused by differences in personality and in styles of working.
Respondents cited lack of respect as the most common negative behaviour associated with these conflicts. Individuals reported that they found conflict stressful, reducing their motivation and commitment.
How does a manager head off these minor and major conflicts and intervene successfully when necessary? CIPD research finds that at all levels of management having difficult conversations and managing conflict are seen as the top two leadership challenges.
Responsible for managing sixty plus managers and employees over the last eleven years, Chartered Manager Peter Fisher, understands how difficult and worrying it can be to manage the conflict within an organization.
The aim of this webinar is to give first line and middle managers peace of mind that you are not alone, and some tools to use when dealing with conflict in the workplace. Improving manager’s skills to deal more effectively with conflict decreases both the soft and hard costs associated with that conflict.
The webinar will explore causes of conflict, how to address conflict and how to minimize the chance of conflict. Attendees will receive links to additional resources to support their learning.
