Our two experts will look at effective ways to promote individuals and businesses effectively and within ethical and legal guidelines. They will also stay at the end to answer questions in an informal networking situation. Annmarie Hanlon is a trainer, consultant, adviser in digital marketing strategy and social media. Starting in 1999, when she worked in ‘internet marketing’, she has worked on digital marketing consultancy projects in sectors including legal and financial services, software and IT, communications, advertising, media, health and leisure.
Annmarie is a Senior Lecturer in Digital Marketing at the University of Derby where she is also studying for a PhD in the strategic business use of social media networks. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Member of the Marketing Institute Ireland and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Marketors.
With a background in Engineering and Quality & process management, Philippa Bowen is founder and principal consultant of Derby based Business Ignition Group, delivering bespoke strategies and practical support via planning and LEAN tools to deliver real change to a wide range of businesses.
Philippa has experience in the aerospace, nuclear and automotive sectors, as well as working for major national charity and a local Authority. More recently she was Commercial Manager for Paul Cummins Ceramics Ltd., delivering the “Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red” exhibition at the Tower of London.
She regularly speaks at international events on the use of Social Media by the services industries, highlighting the importance of security and confidentiality of their client’s identities and data.
Philippa’s clients include blue chip companies, charities, multinationals and start-ups. She is proud to works closely with the University of Derby to support its business school students.
