Since 2007, The Chartered Management Institute (Northern Ireland Region), the Institute of Consulting (Northern Ireland Region) and the Institute of Management Consultants & Advisers (Republic of Ireland) have annually recognised outstanding contributions to business and economic activity across the island of Ireland with a special achievement award. 

Past recipients include Senator George Mitchell, Martin Naughton and Feargal McCormack.

This year's recipient will be Moya Doherty who currently serves as Chair of RTE. Her career includes theatre, radio and television production and presentation, both in Ireland and internationally.

Moya Doherty

Moya was the Commissioning Producer and originator of Riverdance for the Eurovision Song Contest of 1994 and in 1995, well over 300 million people went to see Riverdance. The two hour show is still on tour after all these years.

It has played 11,000 performances, been viewed live by over 25 million people in over 465 places, and played in 46 different countries. There will be 60 stops in 2015/2016 in North America for the 20th Year Anniversary.

She serves on a number of arts-related Boards including seven years as Chairman of the Dublin International Theatre Festival, The Abbey Theatre, The Ark Children’s Theatre in Dublin, Business to Arts and Walnut Hill Arts School in Massachusetts.

She is also a Director of Tyrone Productions and has received numerous awards and accolades over the years including the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. She has Honorary Doctorates from the University of Ulster and National University of Ireland.
