Warburtons is the second largest food brand in the UK and a fifth generation family business. It has 13 bakeries spread across mainland UK and has a 32.5% by value share of the wrapped bread market in the country, selling approx. 13 million products per week.

At this joint event between the CQI Greater Manchester Branch and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), David Tomlinson, former Technical Director of Warburtons, will discuss how Warburtons achieved this through:

  • quality and consistency of product and developing and establishing the market for premium bread in the UK.
  • establishing unique wheat growing programmes
  • maintaining product differential
  • remaining at the cutting edge of bakery and engineering technology

The baking industry has led the world in production efficiency over the past 30 years, in no small measure due to a combination of technical and engineering excellence, so come along and hear from an industry leader.
