Webinar - Mindset and The Intentional Manager
Start Date: 16 Mar 2017
Start Time: 6:00 PM
End Time: 7:00 PM
Duration: 1 hour
This webinar, on finding The Intentional Manager presented by Dr Tim Sparkes, explores how the changing face of the much discussed New World of Work necessitates a different approach by leveraging mind-set. It introduces a new type of diagnostic which is helping companies in selection and development, team formation and organisational mapping in order to support them at the start of, and during, their transformation challenges in a disrupted world where change is the only guaranteed constant.
High potentials are typically high performers but high performers are not typically high potentials. The result for hiring and promotion can be The Accidental Manager who may have the right skills for a new role but often lacks the right attitudes, approach and perspective. With 1 in 5 hires being the wrong (and costly) decision, how can organisations improve their accuracy in selection and promotion?
At the same time, the work environment and the people in it are facing a revolution. Fluid or contingent workforces are on the rise, the demographic makeup of the employee is shifting as are their ways of working and expectations, whilst company structures and organisational design are, for the first time, the top talent concern. The business landscape continues to accelerate and fragment, particularly as legacy organisations from almost every sector and industry digitally disrupt and transform to keep up with their native competitors. The result is that finding the right skills in the right place is increasingly becoming a fantasy with one recent survey suggesting an 87% mismatch between skills vs job criteria.
