Very misunderstood, outplacement provides employees who are leaving a company – voluntarily or involuntarily – with practical career advice and coaching support to help them to make their next move and secure a new opportunity. It’s all about helping employees transition to new jobs and re-orient themselves in the job market.
Most of us will have been affected by a redundancy situation either personally or through someone close to us. For some it can be a most stressful life experience whereas for others it’s seen as a golden opportunity to make some life changing decisions.
Come along and find out how to effectively manage outplacement and what help is available for both employers and employees. It makes good business and career sense to get it right and reap the benefits.
Our speaker will share with you personal experiences, best practice and top tips.
Sandra McLean, HR Consultant, McLean HR Services
Sandra is a Fellow of both the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) with experience in managing outplacement most recently with the closure of the Leeds office of The Open University where she supported colleagues in finding alternative employment in her role as Regional HR Services Manager.
