Great talk here from TED about Studio School in Manchester. Studio School is a new kind of school in the UK where small teams of kids learn by working on projects that are, as Mulgan puts it, "for real."

What a great idea. This is a huge reason why schools (and hospitals) should be free to behave how they wish. Let the market decide and all sorts of innovations will emerge.

That does look good, I hope it becomes a real success. I see they're running a few schools. Be nice to have some competing brands offering education rather than just the state.
