A poll conducted by HSBC found that more than half of the 2,000 workers questioned believed they would not stop working once they hit retirement age.
While some workers were planning on working longer in order to ensure sufficient funds were available when they did eventually retire, some intended to continue working to develop new skills and pursue careers they had always wanted.
David Wells, head of pensions at HSBC, said: "Many it seems are doing this to fill a shortfall in retirement income, but equally many are looking to embrace new skills and challenges."

7/10 people in this Beeb survey believe they'll never retire. To be honest it wouldn't surprise me if I don't either the way things are going.
Turns out this is even more pronounced amongst the wealthy.

Almost two-thirds of wealthy people in the UK want to keep working and never retire, a survey suggests.
This is the highest proportion of wealthy individuals out of 20 developed global economies surveyed by Barclays Wealth.
