"Communication is the key to success for every business" - Discuss
Tommorow evening Merseyside branch event is on how the use of NLP can help with Better Business Communication.
"Whether it be internal memos and presentations or marketing materials and sales presentations, effective communication is a must. All effective communications have something in common, from the memorable slogans such as "..helps you work rest and play" to those annoyingly catchy jingles of the insurance adverts (Direct Line comes straight to my mind), there is something that these messages have done - they've stayed with you.
In this two hour presentation and workshop, we'll take a light-hearted look at how you can begin to bring some of the simple and effective techniques derived from Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to your communications."
What do you think?
Ps. You can find for details on the seminar on the Merseyside branch event page. Places are limited but there is a still a couple of spaces left.
Probably a silly question but what is NLP? I've heard so many myths around it.
Hi Laura,
Great question! Can I be totally cheeky and reccommed you come along to the event; as I know George Cunningham, our speaker, will be happy to answer any of your questions.
Hi Laura,
In my experience almost no question is a silly question (except the one about "What's it called when the heart stops?" - but that's another story...). I too, have heard all sorts of definitions (and myths) around NLP, so to clear things up a little, here goes.
In a nutshell, NLP, or Neuro-Linguistic Programming, is a study of excellence.
By studying and modelling the behaviours of people who are excellent at what they do, we can create techniques that help others to be as effective.
You'll find a more detailed definition here http://www.nlpliverpool.com/nlp.php
Of course, NLP techniques are used in many areas, and tomorrow night's event will focus on my particular area of expertise - the business use of NLP. You'll be able to experience this for yourself if you book now for tomorrow night's event at The Racquet Club, on Chapel Street, Liverpool.
We look forward to meeting you there.
Be great!
George Cunningham,
NLP Liverpool Limited.
So there's no witchcraft and voodoo involved at all George? That's a bit disappointing :-)
Sorry to disappoint, tomorrow night's event will be witch craft and voodoo free, as we're concentrating on the business use of NLP - my particular area of expertise. There'll be no mention either, of the fairies at the bottom of the garden or "foolish wand waving and incantations" in my seminar (with apologies to J.K.Rowling).
I hope you are curious enough to attend, I hope to meet you tomorrow, as I believe there are still some places available.
Be well, George.
