Unemployment up 4% across Liverpool city region

The slow four-month fall in unemployment across Merseyside came to a shuddering halt today as the jobless numbers spiked.

Official figures released this morning showed that 2,300 people began claiming jobseeker’s allowance (JSA) across Liverpool city region last month.
