How can graduate managers stand out?

Apparently there are now 83 graduates applying for each job in the UK.  As people that have mostly 'been there, done that', what advice can we muster to help new managers stand out from the crowd?

Get as much experience as you can get, be that via internships or volunteering.  I think adding overseas experience would be a big boost as well.

I hope you're right about the oversees experience Matt.
