The most beneficial aspect of being a CMgr is that you are a member of a professional body. This lends additional credence to my qualification, especially in the area of management, which can be seen to be a professional skill that is difficult to quantify.

I applied for Chartered manager status to avail of the supporting link between the OU and the CMI. It looked to be a good recognition of the quality of the MBA by a professional body. I feel that the CMgr status lends more additional weight to my MBA qualification. In addition, it recognises the same core values that are taught in the masters program.

I submitted my application 5 months after my MBA graduation ceremony. The process of applying is relatively straight forward. There is a questionnaire to complete and this is followed by a Skype call / interview. The interviewer was very helpful and I found our discussion useful and informative.

The most beneficial aspect of being a CMgr is that you are a member of a professional body that specialises in management professionals. As with all professional bodies, this lends additional credence to my qualification, especially in the area of management, which can be seen to be a professional skill that is difficult to quantify.
