York St John University celebrates staff achievements

CMI’s Brian Wilkinson visited York St John University (YSJU) in June to congratulate the first group of the University’s managers to complete the Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership provided by YSJU. The Vice Chancellor of YSJU, Karen Stanton, commended the managers for undertaking and completing the programme. Assessment and Quality Officer, Anna Powell and Copyright and Licences Officer, Ruth MacMullen were impressed with the course content and the professional development value they gained through the training.

Ruth MacMullen said she found the course theory supported her every-day responsibilities and assisted in developing her confidence.

Ruth MacMullen"I found the theory we studied was immediately applicable to my day-to-day role, as in conjunction with studying and gaining the qualification, I found myself improving in confidence as I felt that I was improving as a manager.

I would highly recommend the course to anybody who wants to develop personally and professionally and who wants to broaden their horizons."

Anna Powell"I have learnt a lot about how I learn as well as how to start becoming a good manager and leader – I can’t imagine continuing in a management role without everything I have learned so far on the course, particularly linking the theory to practice – I’ve found it insightful, surprising and invaluable."
