Peter Wheatcroft FCMI

Peter WheatcroftPeter has had a successful IT career spanning 40 years, of which 30 have been in management and the last 10 as a company director. He worked for 15 years in process industries and then 15 years in financial services before establishing a successful consultancy business in 2002. He has been a member of the CMI since 1989 and was elected as a Fellow in 2007. He is also a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered IT Professional and holds Fellowships from the IET and BCS.  He has been a member of the British Quality Foundation since 2006.

His key areas of management expertise are in the definition and delivery of IT services for a wide range of company types, with over 25 blue chip clients already engaged. He is currently working with a number of familiar high street brands to improve their service delivery capability, involving activities outside the usual scope of technology interest.

Peter was the IT director responsible for achieving world class status whilst at Alliance & Leicester plc and he has been an active contributor to the IT profession though various membership and industry bodies. 

He wrote the book World Class IT Service Delivery (ISBN13 978-1-902505-82-4) for the BCS in 2007 which was published in both the UK and India and has judged - and latterly moderated - the IT Industry Awards since 2002.  He has been a contributor to the development of SFIA, the Skills Profile for the Information Age since 2003, and is a qualified membership assessor for Chartered IT Professional status.

His work has appeared in publications such as The Times, ServiceTalk, ITNOW and Computer Weekly and he has been working with The Corporate IT Forum as a Subject Matter Expert for topics such as Managing Moments of Truth, ITILv3, World Class IT and Security Management since 2005.
