Becoming an independent management consultant, trainer coach and mentor in 2012 Tom lives in Wigan. Currently he is developing strategic plans for SME’s and start-up companies in the Northwest and supporting their implementation. Creating employee engagement, training and HR policies that support the companies vision and make them employers of choice whilst increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty. These range across Media and Entertainment, Technology and Building sectors.
Tom has had three careers to date initially an electrical engineer and managing compulsory competitive tendering (CCT) for local government in the 80’s. In the 90’s he moved into IT supported the development of ICT helpdesk’s network infrastructures’ and major IT systems including Payroll, HR and Benefits.
Formerly he worked in the public sector as a Development & HR Manager delivering strategic transformational programmes. He received a personal letter of thanks from the Prime Minster for delivering customer service excellence across several organisations.
Previously he has also written successful funding bids for third sector and social enterprise start-ups. He continues to support these businesses and individuals to grow and develop.
As a Neuro Linguistic Practitioner (NLP), trainer and facilitator he is interested in developing people to improve their own performance and well being within an organisation and their own lives.
He runs a blog on business and management issues and also a personal blog on social issues. His passion is music and he uses his radio show on Salford City Radio to promote local and regional business, sport, culture, musicians and community. He has taken part in several Ofsted inspections and uses his skills as a challenger for reform in the local NHS Clinical Commissioning Group.
