Review of Qualifications for 14-19 year olds in Wales
01 September 2012
CMI has responded to the Welsh Government’s consultation on its review of qualifications for 14-19 year olds.
We argue that, against a backdrop of economic recession and high youth unemployment in Wales, management and leadership qualifications allow 14-19 year olds to develop valuable employability skills, help prepare them for the world of work, and enable them to demonstrate to employers and higher / further education establishments that they have practical, as well as academic, skills.
CMI believes that Level 2 and Level 3 management and leadership qualifications should continue to be offered in Wales as part of the 14-19 year old curriculum.
