Women in Leadership White Paper
01 March 2013
Exploring a range of issues including pay, the talent pipeline and women’s opportunities for career progression, the paper highlights the problems that women face in the workplace and explains how they can be resolved. It also shows that despite decades of legislation and major efforts from employers, women are still facing significant barriers. Research has proven that where diversity is embraced, business performance improves.
The paper draws together key findings from CMI research and also features contributions from expert speakers including Cherie Blair, Baroness Prosser of the EHRC and Cranfield’s Professor Susan Vinnicombe, who spoke to a joint meeting of the CMI and Women in Management in November 2012. It covers the gender pay gap, differences in aspirations, issues relating to professional confidence and flexible working as well as many other topics.
