There is good news on the horizon for those who are hoping to develop their management skills in the run-up to a career change, after new findings revealed that now is the best time to switch jobs.
Research by recruitment firm, Reed revealed that 81 per cent of sectors were now stronger than they were previously, while the number of job opportunities grew by nine per cent.
In addition, over half of firms confirmed that they were growing on a monthly basis, while most cities in the UK also experienced an employment boost; with businesses offering more opportunities for jobseekers and those wishing to get promoted.
James Reed, chairman of Reed, said that he hoped the Budget which was released by George Osborne last month will provide additional incentives for employers to to take on more people.
He said: "Commentators could be forgiven for expecting the jobs market to fall back slightly after taking such a significant and encouraging upward turn in February, but our March figures show there has been a clear and continuing trend for growth throughout the first quarter of 2013."
Their research is supported by the latest figures published by the Office for National Statistics which show that employment has risen by 71.5 per cent from November 2012 to January 2013.
