Management training can include teaching people to be good leaders, according to a business writer.
In an article for the Fort Worth Business Press, Michael Hutchinson outlined a number of managers' skills that can be included in training.
He explained that managers need to be able to foster relationships with people, be constructive in their feedback and define duties clearly.
Additionally, he noted that employees need to be rewarded in acknowledgement of good work.
The importance of good communication was stressed, with staff needing to be clear on what their duties are.
Mr Hutchinson also pointed out that management training would prove to employees that the company is devoted to having good bosses, even if it does mean they lose some working time.
In related news, Michael Baxter of Investment and Business News recently called for more government support for entrepreneurs.
He accepted some cuts were necessary but said that some of the saved money should go back into helping start-up businesses.
