CMI creates a series of action-oriented checklists for practising general managers on a wide range of topics of 4-5 pages length. These are very popular with our members and can be accessed here.
Our Subject Matter Experts act as 'consulting editors' providing intellectual challenge to in-house authors and feedback on the currency of concepts and practices, appropriateness of references, balance and practicality of the advice provided in the publications.
Becoming a Subject Matter Expert
We are looking for people who can demonstrate their credentials either though formal qualifications, publications or track record as a thought leader in the field. A key criterion is a sound understanding of what it takes to translate their area of expertise into the world of work.
The position is honorary and is likely to involve providing comments on a number of checklists a year within your area of expertise. However, we can offer:
- the opportunity to influence how specialist ideas are communicated to the broader general manager audience
- recognition as an expert by the UK’s Chartered professional body for general management
- the opportunity to network with a multi-disciplinary peer group.
If you are interested, would like to know more, and feel you meet the criteria please email piers.cain@managers.org.uk and indicate your area(s) of expertise.
