Postal strike 'would affect businesses across the UK'
Following the news that the Communication Workers Union (CWU) is balloting postal workers for possible strike action, a business expert has warned t
hat it could have a devastating impact on business.
Results for the ballot are due early next month, possibly October 8th or 9th, but GrowthBusiness.co.uk has warned business managers that they should have contingency plans in place and called for them to use their management skills.
Nick Britton, editor of GrowthBusiness.co.uk, said: "Small and mid-sized businesses are already suffering major disruption because of postal strikes."
He added that a nationwide walk-out would put a "critical" strain on tens of thousands of companies which are already labouring under tough trading conditions and cash flow problems.
According to the Royal Mail, the CWU's strike ballot is totally unjustified, damaging to customers and a clear attempt to undermine the modernisation which is essential if the Royal Mail is to face up to the reality of a rapidly changing marketplace.
Have you been effected by the post office strike? How should the matter be resolved?
