How do I build an authentic relationship with someone I find 'difficult'? They can be patronising and rude at times, vague and disconnected at other times. The relationship is an important one, both politically for me and economically, as the success of the group depends on us.
How do the team recommend managers reconcile the needs of the organisation and some of the measures that are being taken, some seemingly unjust, in the name of the crisis with the inherent nature of people who take the time and trouble to manage with integrity, honesty and care towards the individuals in their teams?
I work with my housemate and up until now it's been a great laugh. However, i've just been promoted ahead of him and its causing problems. As we're in the same team I now line manage him and often I think he takes advantage of our friendship - missing deadlines etc - all becuase we're mates.
What can I do to demonstrate to my senior management team that I have the potential to be a future leader? I'm currently managing a small team but am keen for them to recognise my ambition.
One of the members of my team has really strong potential and I think they should be pushing for promotion and moving forward but they seem happy to do their current role and not progress in the company.
Is it better leadership to push them forward or to accept they are happy with their current role?
