Being the best
Once again, Best Companies and The Sunday Times have joined forces to find the ‘Best Companies to Work For’ in the UK.
The 2011 competition to find the best small, mid and big companies provides organisations with the opportunity to benchmark themselves against the best in the business. All participating organisations receive a free results summary from the Best Companies Workplace Insight Tool including a Benchmark of The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For list, relevant to the size of their organisation.
CMI sponsors the ‘Best for Training & Development’ award, which this year was won by PR consultancy Blue Rubicon. As well as providing in-house and external training schemes and visits to, for example, newsrooms, Blue Rubicon also gives each member of staff £200 a year to put towards new experiences, like learning a language or studying photography, for example.
Effective development policies led to almost one in four (24 per cent) Blue Rubicon employees being promoted in 2008-9. Four of the board directors started at consultant level or lower. Staff think the firm is good for personal growth (87 per cent), say work is stimulating (85 per cent) and that the experience gained is valuable for their future (88 per cent).
To find out how your organisation measures up and for the opportunity to be one of the best in 2011, visit www.bestcompanies.co.uk or call the Best Companies team on 01978 856 222.

Sorry about that Laura. I've had a tinker, can you give it another go?
