Just watching Vince Cable telling the Lib-dem conference that Capatilism can be a negative thing. Is there any doubt that this is true for many individuals? Surely the purpose of Capatilism is to generate profits, and this generally means profits for shareholders. Workers wages are a cost to be minimised, and only when there are less workers than posts does the system work in their favour.
While I personally believe that Capatilism is a more workable system than Communism, there are many in the former Eastern Block who would argue that their security has significantly diminished with the demise of the Soviet empire.
