Career options for A level students

The A level results are published today (19 August) and for those still weighing up their options about whether or not to take up a university place – if they can get one - PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) still has a handful of vacancies to start this September.

Students will have to be quick off the mark though as the deadline for applying for the remaining tax vacancies in Manchester and Birmingham is tomorrow (Friday 20 August).

HEADstart, PwC's A Level entry scheme, offers a viable alternative to going to university. Students joining the firm through this route earn while they work towards a professional qualification and will qualify faster than those who go to university.

To apply, students need to have or be predicted at least 280 UCAS tariff points in three or more A levels/AS/AVCE/Scottish Highers, and the salary is dependent on role and location but in the range of £16k - £20k plus benefits.

Once students have applied online, they will undertake online and assessment centre tests, a telephone interview and a final face-to-face interview with a senior member of staff.

If we have any members receiving their results today, how did you get on?

Yet another record set of results I see.  Surprisingly.  I'd be pretty ticked off if I was a really smart kid as getting an A grade now seems pretty run of the mill.

First time I have come across this kind of post. Really superb. Many thanks for sharing this.
