The CMI and Armed Forces
There is an interesting short article in this months Quest Magazine (Service leavers resettlement publication), about the link between the CMI and the Armed Forces; that the CMI understands the specific requirements of Forces personnel for training that will stand up against the best available in the private arena. They got on to recognise that quality (re) training will prove valuable during and after the resettlement process in civilian life.
As a result of this awareness, the CMI has mapped command & leadership courses against its own accredited standards allowing service leavers to gain management qualifications upon leaving the service. This simple and obvious next step is another example of growing appreciation and understanding of the skill set they bring with them.
I was pleasantly surprised to read of this support by the CMI and that they have a specific support page on their web site (www.managers.org.uk/mod-resettlement). What a valuable organisation the CMI is proving in the bid to make the leavers transition a successful one. www.ktaluk.com
