A day in the life of the Kent Chair - our event "Storytelling in the service of leadership and organization development"

Last week we ran a great event in the early morning at the Ramada Hotel in Maidstone, Kent.

My team put the event together and provided the necessary refreshments and of course an abundance of bacon rolls!

The event "Storytelling in the service of leadership and organisation development" was presented by Carl Taylor and the content of the presentation was based around his recent book.

Carl is a member of the CMI already & has recently joined the Kent CMI committee and is now actively involved in some of our activities and operations.

Carls background includes work as an environmental scientist with Shell Research. Carl studied psychology and moved into strategic planning and new ventures development with Shell International. Leaving the corporate fold in 1990, this now marks his 20th year working independently as a coach and leadership development professional.  In his book 'The Knowledge' he has focused his experience on creating an individual and team resource for supporting a down-to-earth approach to leadership and organization development. The presentation was based on some of the opening activities within his book. The Knowledge" was also a nomination in the CMI book of the year awards.

All participants received a free copy of his book and Carl was happy to make some signings whilst there.

You can see a small extract of part of the presentation on the 15 min video below (amateur footage). This is the first time we have taken any video of one of our events and we plan to have a lot more covered in future events.
