Dip in days lost

 

That’s the average number of sick days taken by employees per year is 6.4, adding up to 180m days lost at a cost of about £16.9bn in 2009. But the average is down slightly on the findings of 2007 when it was estimated that the average employee took 6.7 days sick leave.
