Problems at work...
THE PROBLEM:
In your first week you manage to get on the wrong side of one of the secretaries. She asked you why you hadn't filled in your timesheet for the previous week and you pointed out as politely as you could that you only only started your employment with the company on Monday. Now things are frosty whenever you meet. You don't want to be 'enemies' but are beginning to feel a bit awkward as she seems to be giving you the cold shoulder.
THE SOLUTION:
Such simple misunderstandings can cause a rift and nobody wants to fall out with fellow workers, particularly those that have the ear of the boss. She may just be short-sighted, which is why she seems to be cutting you in the corridor. On the other hand she may be feeling a bit of an idiot for asking you about the timesheet and that's the reason why she seems to be cutting you dead. In either event, be more assertive with your greeting when your paths cross. Make eye contact and give her a cheerful greeting. Be ready to make small talk. Just keep on being polite and friendly and gradually you should melt her frostiness with your kindness.

Sounds a bit blooming juvenile to me. Is this person at school or in an adult workplace?
