Revised Checklist on Planning Your Retirement

For some people ‘retirement’ is a status to be avoided and feared, for others it is the goal of their career.  Whatever your priorities in life,  retirement comes to most of us. 

Patterns of employment are changing and long-service with a single or even a number of employers right through to normal retirement age is no longer the norm. Early retirement, part-time working, and self-employment are becoming increasingly popular. Many wish to maintain their independence, building up a portfolio of work by occupying interim positions, consultancy, part-time training, writing, and non-executive director roles, to name but a few. Although this is acknowledged, this checklist is intended primarily for those currently in employment who are beginning to consider the impact of ‘conventional’ retirement.
