Our passion is to bring the CMI mission to life in our nation by focusing on events that promote CMI’s vision of ‘better led and managed organisations’ and align to CMI’s Professional Standard.
We not only work closely with CMI at a national level, but also with our fellow Regional Boards to support professional development in management and leadership competencies as well as expanding the professional networks of our members.
To achieve this, we work tirelessly to ensure we organise events which are relevant to our membership, utilising a variety of media. In addition to this, we actively build effective links with industry partners, higher education and other professional bodies.

Carol is a Programme Director, and an Inclusive Leadership and Behavioural Change Expert with 20 years of experience in HR Specialist and consulting roles. Highly skilled in consulting and comfortable with ambiguity, Carol has led cultural diagnostic work in every sector, supporting employers develop and land impactful inclusion and people strategies. Carol is well known for her practical approach and ability to cut through complexity.
Carol holds post graduate qualifications in both HR and Leadership. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personal & Development (CIPD) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Furthermore, she is an AMPG accredited Programme Manager and Change Specialist. Carol has also received two awards for academic excellence.
Currently Carol leads the Professional Development team at Inclusive Employers. Outside her leadership role, she enjoys teaching on the post graduate level strategic inclusion qualification.“Work impacts so much of our lives, that’s why people join organisations but leave managers. Outside work Carol loves nature and reading. When she isn’t absorbed reading the latest book on her kindle, she spends time kayaking, walking, and enjoying time with family and friends in the Scottish Highlands.
Before embarking on an academic career Richard gained extensive industrial experience in the retail
and hospitality sectors undertaking a range of jobs within a number of organisations.
Richard’s research interests are based in the Organisational Studies area with specific interest in Change
Management, Organisational Development & Culture and Leadership. As chair of the Organisational
Transformation, Change and Development Special Interest Group of the British Academy of
Management Richard is engaged with the latest research and knowledge exchange in this dynamic
and exciting area of management scholarship.
As a Lecturer in Management and New Technology at the University of the West of Scotland Richard undertakes course development, teaching and student supervision on undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes and creates training and development materials for academic studies and industrial training programmes.
A Chartered Manager with the Chartered Management Institute, Associate at the Chartered Institute of
Personnel and Development and a Fellow of the Higher Academy. Richard recognises the importance
of professional qualifications and works to bridge the gap between academic learning and
professional practical experience.
Renee Raper MSc, CMgr FCMI, Chartered FCIPD, Chartered Manager
Renee is an organisational development professional with extensive knowledge of learning and development with over 30 years’ experience. She works at strategic and operational levels with business and in academia, nationally and internationally, providing learning consultancy, solutions and programmes in leadership and management.
She has worked in Europe, Kazakhstan and the Middle East and is a global e-tutor for the CMI, ILM and Scottish HE & FE, and currently has her own consultancy, Quo Solvis Ltd. She is a qualified executive and career coach.
She enjoys fitness, international travel, reading and baking and is enthusiastic for CPD and a glass of rioja!
As a farmer’s daughter from Aberdeenshire, Jenna has a passion for driving innovation in agriculture, and as such, leads international development for UK Government funded Agri-Tech centre, Crop Health and Protection. Jenna holds a PhD in Environmental Science, as well as an MBA and Executive Education in Global Business from Harvard Business School, and has more than 15 years’ experience delivering high impact international projects around the globe. Jenna is a Chartered Manager and Companion of the Chartered Management Institute, Honorary Fellow at the University of Aberdeen, Associate of CARAS, founding board member of the Africa Scotland Business Network, immediate past Chair of Nuffield Scotland, Trustee of Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust, Trustee of The Farmers Club Charitable Trust, past Director of the Oxford Farming Conference and a current Director of Inclusive Farm Scotland at MacRobert. Jenna is highly published and has won an array of business and agricultural awards. She is also passionate about inspiring the next generation of agriculturalists through her work as a STEM ambassador and LANTRA industry Champion. Jenna received an OBE in Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II final honours list in June 2022 as part of the Jubilee celebrations in recognition for her work in agriculture and science. She was also named as a Coronation Champion, an award launched by the Royal Voluntary Service, alongside Her Majesty The Queen, to celebrate the work of extraordinary volunteers across the UK in His Majesty The King’s Coronation year in 2023. Jenna is a self-proclaimed slug enthusiast with a passion for business, science, agriculture, innovation and international travel!
With over 7 years in retail and commercial banking, I’ve honed expertise in Financial Analysis, Leadership, and Compliance Management. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science with Honours, a Post Graduate Diploma in Banking from India, and an MBA from the University of Glasgow, where I researched ‘AI in Anti-money laundering: Challenges and Mitigation’ for my dissertation. Born and raised in Bhopal, India, I bring a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Currently with Lloyds Banking Group, I specialize in Financial Services, Operations Management, and Customer Service Management. Beyond my professional role, I have diverse interests including dancing, traveling, caretaking, cooking, and volunteering to support those in need. These hobbies reflect my well-rounded personality and passion for making a positive impact.
Zakiyah is currently doing her Master’s Degree in Health Services Management at the University of Glasgow. She has a high interest in healthcare management, Islamic business and community development with numerous experiences in social organisations and volunteering activities.
Prior to pursuing her Master’s, Zakiyah worked as a company secretary at PT. Permata Madina Berkah, the managing company of Permata MadinaPanyabungan Hospital, a leading private hospital in Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatera, Indonesia.
She spends most of her free time reading books, strolling around the city or trying out new cooking recipes from YouTube.
An experienced consultant with a background in civil engineering, he has a proven track record of delivering challenging and complex multidisciplinary infrastructure projects within the UK and overseas. As a skilled relationship manager and problem solver, he is able to bring large teams of people of all levels together to focus on successful, collaborative delivery solutions.
Currently, Iain is a Senior Consultant for Mott MacDonald ltd, a global engineering, management and development consultancy based in the UK, where he specialises in leading multidisciplinary teams in the provision of Technical Advisory and Design Management services to the NHS on large-scale healthcare infrastructure projects throughout the UK.
He is a member of both the Chartered Management Institute and the Institution of Civil Engineers, through which he holds membership of the British Hydrological Society and British Dam Society. Passionate for family and CPD, it is not uncommon to find him on a webinar with a well-deserved beer once his daughter is in bed and dinner has been made!
