Nominations 2019

Nominations are closed for 2018. We are seeking candidates for September 2019 Board of Trustees and Board Committee vacancies.

Who is eligible to become a Trustee?

  • A current Institute Member, Chartered Member, Fellow, Chartered Fellow, Companion or Chartered Companion, with;
  • Experience of operating at strategic level;
  • Ideally, experience as an executive or non-executive director.

Expressions of interest are now being accepted. Members wishing to put themselves forward may either:

Prior to confirming their interest, members may wish to contact the Secretariat team to seek clarification and discuss the level of commitment required, etc. Expressions of interest will be stored for contact in Spring 2019, when the appointment and election process commences.

What will happen then?

We will contact you, asking for a CV and discuss with you your motivation in seeking a Board role.

Board of Trustees - Elections

There are elected members on the Board of Trustees and this year one place will fall vacant. The elected Board member will serve a two-year term. The Board member is then eligible to stand for re-election for two more two year terms, to a maximum period of six years.

The Board of Trustees is at the centre of CMI governance. Board members are Trustees of the Institute, the CMI being a charity registered in England and Wales, and separately registered in Scotland. Their responsibilities are in essence identical to those of a non-executive Director who serves on a company board.
