MHFA and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) are partnering on an exciting new research project to establish how managers can be best equipped to support good mental health in the workplace.
A recent CMI survey revealed that 49% of managers have never received training in managing mental health in the workplace. So what would equip you, as a line manager, to best support your staff? And what training would be most effective in ensuring you have the strongest understanding of mental health?
Our joint project will help us to identify the best practice that line managers have encountered in the workplace, and share recommendations with managers and businesses across the UK. And we need your support to achieve this!
We are looking to interview line managers in December 2019 and January 2020, exploring:
- approaches to managing mental health in the workplace
- how to best support those who are suffering from mental health challenges, or are returning to work as a result of mental health challenges
- best and innovative practice for managing mental health in the workplace
In March 2020, we will conduct a survey of line managers to examine proposed interventions to better managing mental health.
