CMI Awards of Excellence

I am extremely proud to have been shortlisted for this award. I try to lead by example in both my professional and private life, by consistently learning and improving myself. I thoroughly enjoy managing and being a leader that is aspirational in a diverse and challenging world. As managers, we spend a lot of time being proud of our staff, their achievements, and their professional milestones. To be shortlisted for this award makes all the challenges and dedication worth it.

I am honoured to be shortlisted for the Volunteer of the Year award. I am fortunate to be on a board where we have diversity at the forefront of our values and actions. I have learnt about myself, gained some confidence and I have been supported by my board plus the central team to flourish in my role.

Winning this award would more than confirm I am on the right career path after I encountered well-documented barriers to women returning to work in science following a career break to raise a family. Regardless of whether I win this award, I am so grateful for being given the key to unlock my own potential through doing the course at all, but even more grateful for the understanding that the same key unlocks the potential of the people on my team – for me, seeing them grow and succeed has been the real reward.

To even be considered for this award is a huge honour, and to win it would mean everything to me. I am a passionate advocate of the difference that can be made by effective Third Sector provision, and the learning gained through the apprenticeship has completely changed how I approach the challenges currently faced by so many non-profit organisations. I consider myself so lucky to be in a position where applying my learning can benefit so many people and communities.

SERC are very proud of our established partnership as a leading CMI provider in both Northern Ireland and Internationally. We are honoured to be recognised as CMI training provider of the year. SERC are committed to lifelong learning and supporting learners with the opportunities to recognise and validate their experiences in the workplace. An accolade such as this could help us grow our already extensive provision of CMI products but also help SERC be promoted further on the global stage.

It's fantastic to get this recognition at the University of Exeter. We work really hard on developing responsible leadership through all education programs, and it really aligns with all of the work that the CMI do. So it's fantastic to get the recognition from the CMI for the work that we do.
