Sean Taggart

Sean Taggart

Sean has been a Commissioner at the UK Commission for Employment & Skills since 2011 and is also a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute.

In his day job, he has led The Albatross Group as Managing Director and then Chief Executive for the last 20 years, buying the business from its founders through an MBO in 2008. During this time, he grew the business from a single leisure tourism company employing 13 people and generating £4m of annual sales into a collection of 7 leisure tourism businesses employing 150 people and generating annual sales in excess of £30m. In April 2016 he stepped up to become non-executive Chairman at Albatross. He remains the majority shareholder.
Sean has a number of industry interests that complement his work within Albatross; he was Chairman of the Coach Tourism Council in the UK between 2005 and 2015 and is currently Treasurer & a Director of the European Tour Operators Association. Outside the industry, he also chairs the largest Kent-based voluntary organization, a regional charity supporting adult and young carers, Crossroads Care Kent.

He is also a fellow of the Institute of Directors, Tourism Society, the RSA and the Institute of Enterprise & Entrepreneurs.
