For the last 4 years, Ena Saksena has been running the London and South East Peer Learning Group, to promote sharing of professional experience, discussing a huge array of experience based topics in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
Subjects have been as far-reaching as managing difficult people (Ena often wears an HR hat) to mental health in the workplace, and ethical responsibilities of management. Topics are proposed and voted on by the group at the end of each session.
Starting with just 5 members, the group has gone from strength to strength, growing organically through word of mouth and individual members’ networks.
The group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month with notable exceptions during summer and Christmas. While official meeting times are 1830-2030, more complex topics often continue long into the night in a local pub or coffee shop.
How would Ena herself sum up the group?
“Our group is by us and for us”
Why not pop along to the next meeting and see for yourself? You can simply sit and listen to the topic of the day, or contribute as much as you are willing – there’s no cost or obligation.
