Hi, my name is June Lancaster, I am Deputy Chair of the North East, Yorkshire and Humberside CMI Regional Board.
A proud Yorkshire woman involved in Yorkshire business and community activity.
My career has been long, exciting and very rewarding, working in different sectors, Initially a Nurse, then a manager of health services at Trust and Department level. A move into Education, Facilities management now Managing Director of a Global Asset Management company (physical assets) where learning is at its core.
Each month, the members of the board will be Introduced. Delroy Beverly introduced himself when he became chair in September 2017, the CMI Women and Finance Champions introduced themselves in the last two newsletters and other members will be introduced in the coming months.
My active involvement with CMI has been over 18yrs, initially with the WIM network based in Yorkshire and latterly as a volunteer on the board.
Many lessons have been learnt on this CMI journey, one important one is that there are many members who have great stories to share, celebrating what they have done and helping other members t learn from that experience.
Knowing how to publicise and feel comfortable sharing is something that many people struggle with, often it is believed that you need to be at the top of an organisation or achieved some form of public recognition.
This is not the case, it is important to share all success, we can all learn from each other and as a board we would like to ask you to share your stories through this newsletter. Whether your Chartered Manager journey, a career story or a managerial achievement it would be good to share and recognise the great success stories within the region.
Please get in contact if you are willing to write a piece for publication (no more than 1.5 sides of A4 please) or if you would prefer to share your stories at a member event, which are held in different parts of the Region.
